Vikas Kumar Tiwari
Born in Singrauli, India, Dr. Vikas Kumar Tiwari is a dynamic cognitive neuroscientist and medical doctor whose career bridges continents and disciplines. He earned his MD from the esteemed All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, and later pursued advanced neuroscience research at Tohoku University in Japan, where he investigated brain activity and neuroplasticity.
Dr. Tiwari’s journey is defined not only by scientific excellence but also by deep cultural engagement. As an invited member of the distinguished Hagi-no-kai club in Japan, he actively participated in monthly cultural events—from Ikebana and mochi-pounding to shrine visits—embracing the richness of Japanese traditions. He also mentored local students in English through the Sendai Sanko initiative, exemplifying his commitment to cross-cultural learning and community building.
His academic perspective has been further shaped by exchange programs at University College London, Kyoto University, and the University of Leicester. A passionate advocate for science communication, Dr. Tiwari founded kerivika.in, a cultural blogging platform, and kvQUEST, an e-learning initiative aimed at empowering young neuroscientists.
