Federico Munafò

Researcher

Born in 1993, Federico was raised in Livorno, Italy, where he developed a fascination with the potential of pharmaceutical chemistry to improve lives. This passion drove him to pursue a Master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology, during which he completed an experimental thesis at the University of Copenhagen, broadening his international perspective and expertise.


After a brief tenure as an Analytical Chemist in a laboratory specializing in food contact materials, Federico’s dedication to research led him to Genoa. There, he earned a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry at the renowned Italian Institute of Technology, focusing on advancing the field through innovative research.


Today, Federico works as a Scientist and Principal Investigator for a Contract Research Organization (CRO) in the province of Naples. In this role, he not only contributes to cutting-edge pharmaceutical research but also champions the dissemination of scientific knowledge to a broader audience. Driven by a commitment to critical thinking and evidence-based reasoning, Federico actively addresses misconceptions and unfounded fears surrounding science in modern society.


Federico’s work reflects a deep-seated passion for making science accessible, fostering informed dialogue, and advancing the positive impact of pharmaceutical chemistry on global well-being.
