Caroline Valadares Bustamante
Legal Consultant
About Me
Caroline Valadares Bustamante is an accomplished legal professional with a strong background in international law, a passion for technology, and a deep commitment to sustainability. Born in Brazil on January 19, 1986, she earned her law degree from UFRJ and later specialized in labor law at IBMEC. In 2019, she moved to the Netherlands to pursue a master’s degree in Public International Law at the Universiteit van Amsterdam, where she developed expertise in international human rights, investment law, and environmental law.
Throughout her career, Caroline has worked both as a lawyer in a law firm and as a Legal Consultant. As a lawyer, she handled a wide range of cases, navigating complex legal frameworks to provide expert counsel. Her work included structuring and reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with labor regulations, and offering strategic legal advice. As a Legal Consultant, she expanded her role by conducting in-depth legal research, drafting and analyzing contracts, and negotiating legal terms. These experiences strengthened her ability to work independently, manage high-pressure environments, and meet strict deadlines.
Caroline’s dedication to social justice is evident in her academic work. Her master’s thesis examined environmental defenders in Latin America, exploring the intersection of human rights and environmental protection. This research deepened her understanding of the challenges faced by advocates of sustainable development, especially those protecting environmental causes in the region.
In addition to her legal expertise, Caroline is committed to continuous growth. She is pursuing professional certification in data science to further broaden her ability to contribute to an increasingly data-driven global landscape. She is fluent in English and Portuguese, with intermediate proficiency in Spanish and Dutch, enabling her to operate effectively in international environments.
Passionate about arts and literature, Caroline believes deeply in the transformative power of education and culture. She advocates for the use of art and literature as tools to inspire, empower, and drive positive change in communities around the world.
