Anna Pattison
Researcher
Anna Pattison, originally from British Columbia, Canada, is a distinguished expert in sustainability science. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies, with a concentration in Chemistry, from The King's University, Edmonton. During her undergraduate studies, she collaborated with the King's Centre for Visualization in Science to design an innovative, interactive learning tool for Chemistry students, effectively fostering systems thinking by mapping the interconnections between chemistry and the planetary boundaries framework.
Anna further advanced her academic career by obtaining a Master of Science in Social-Ecological Resilience for Sustainable Development from Stockholm University. Her master’s thesis provided a comprehensive examination of plastics pollution and environmental justice, critically analysing how diverse stakeholders leverage justice frameworks within multilateral environmental agreements on plastics pollution.
As a transdisciplinary sustainability scientist, Anna synthesises her expertise across social-ecological systems, chemistry, environmental studies, and international policy to offer nuanced insights into global ecological dynamics and human-environment interactions.
Beyond her professional endeavours, Anna engages in knitting as a creative outlet and competes in volleyball at a high level.
Her areas of expertise and scholarly interest include:
- Environmental Science
