Ana Cancho Esquivel

Ana Cancho Esquivel was born in Maguilla, Spain in 1999. She has always had a passion for arts and languages, so she decided to study her bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting at the University of Cordoba. After discovering her liking for scientific translation, she graduated with a master’s degree in Medical Translation in 2022. In 2021 she proofread and translated her family’s winery site web and she realised she also wanted to pursue a career in editing.
In 2019 she was a student research assistant in the area of Linguistics, where she did reviews and synthesis of scientific articles as well as corpora compilation in English and French, and she participated developing a database on scientific publications. Since 2021 she has been a student research assistant in Translation and Interpreting, where she has investigated multilingual inclusive language and brainstorming influence in consecutive interpreting, and she has translated a project on the genomics of fungus populations that causes maize anthracnose.
Ana is an English and French to Spanish translator and a proofreader, and her specialisation areas are winery, sworn and medical translation. All the knowledge she acquired during her training has allowed her to develop an extensive capacity for documentation, resolution, and proofreading. With an eye towards the future, Ana is considering investigate about graphic medicine and continue with her translation and editing career.
