Raluca Vintan was born in 1996 in Romania. Being curious by nature, she chose to pursue a career in science. In 2019, she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Food Biotechnology and is currently finishing her Master's degree in Molecular Biotechnology at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. As a biotechnologist, she is interested in the practical applications of molecular biology, genetics, and genetic engineering and is still exploring various career paths. For her thesis project, she conducted research on the topic of CRISPR-Cas and is currently interning to discover its practical applications.
As she progressed in her studies, Raluca realized the importance of making scientific information accessible to larger audiences. This realization led to her passion for science communication. She believes that science should be accessible to everyone and aims to make complex scientific concepts understandable for a wider audience. She is also an advocate for diversity and inclusivity in STEM fields and hopes to inspire more young people, especially girls, to pursue careers in science.
In her spare time, she volunteers with youth and disadvantaged groups, and also enjoys reading and baking.
