Deborah Zaccai


Deborah Zaccai was born in 1995 in Pula, a coastal town in Istria, Croatia. Living in a high tourist area, she was taught from a young age to speak English and Italian. Deborah developed an interest in literature during primary school and was an avid reader throughout her education. This inspired her to study English and Italian language and literature at the University of Rijeka. During her time at Rijeka, she became a contributor to the student literary group. After getting her BA, Deborah continued her studies at the Radboud University of Nijmegen where she got her MA in Language and Communication.

Over the years, Deborah has worked on various projects like ‘Reducing prejudiced reactions to non-native accentedness’ with the Centre for Language Studies (CLS) at Nijmegen, and worked part-time jobs which included tutoring kids, translating for an international company, receptionist and similar.

In her free time, Deborah enjoys singing, reading and writing short stories of her own, watching movies and series, as well as F1. Additionally, she enjoys working out, playing boardgames and hanging out with her friends.
