Sofiya Star was born in Moscow, Russia, in the year 2004. She is on her way to achieve a Bachelor in Medical Sciences from the University of Edinburgh. Sofiya has acquired a myriad of skills throughout her academic career. She has developed the necessary qualities to work effectively in a team when she acted as a chairperson of the student committee in her school and when she joined the committee of the Medical Sciences society at her university, in which she currently acts as the Co-president. Additionally, Sofiya engaged in a university research project and shadowed medical professionals to widen her scope of scientific and medical knowledge outwith university lectures. Having volunteered as a tutor for students at her school, Sofiya had witnessed the positive impact of providing free, educational guidance; Arcadia’s message had deeply resonated with her due to this.

Furthermore, Sofiya has shown proficiency in academic writing, being awarded a Pearson award for her achievements in IGCSE English Literature and having habitually produced quality scientific essays for her university courses. Upon completion of her current degree, Sofiya aims to commence a graduate degree in Medicine.

Sofiya finds spending time with family is imperative for her happiness. Her hobbies involve reading classic literature, writing fiction, dissecting true crime documentaries and watching films (predominantly horror).
