Juliana Priscila Vago was born in 1984 in Brazil. In 2010, she successfully completed her bachelor's degree in pharmacy, subsequently pursuing a Master of Science (MSc) and a Doctorate (PhD) in cell biology. Throughout her academic journey on biomedical research, Juliana has gathered extensive expertise in investigating inflammatory diseases, collaborating with esteemed research groups in Brazil, Australia, the USA, and the Netherlands. Her primary focus has been on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the resolution of inflammatory responses. Juliana aims to use her scientific expertise to contribute to therapeutic advances for society. Furthermore, she is actively seeking to transition from academia to the pharmaceutical industry, willing to apply her expertise in a practical setting.
After conducting several research projects and publishing scientific manuscripts, Juliana's next goal is to make scientific knowledge accessible to a wider audience. She believes that knowledge of inflammatory diseases can be essential for preventing and reducing disease progression, in addition to helping in better prognosis and pharmacological therapy. With this vision in mind, Juliana aims to bridge the gap between scientific research and the general public, making complex concepts accessible, promoting awareness and improving the quality of life of patients.
In her spare time, Juliana enjoys travelling, running, cooking and spending time with her family.
