About

Ewan Waugh was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, North East England, a city with a proud and rich history of trade unionism and labour activism, which influenced his decision to study politics.

He is a graduate of Northumbria University (Politics BA (Hons)) and the University of Gothenburg (MSc in Global Studies). When Ewan was an undergraduate, he was an Erasmus student at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS), Jönköping, Sweden. This fantastic experience inspired him to return to the country in 2012 to study in Gothenburg, where he still lives and continues to perfect his Swedish.

His academic studies also infused his interests in environmental issues and built environments, especially architecture. These topics formed part of his master’s dissertation, which researched the theory and definition of corruption and its levels and examples in local government.

In his personal life, Ewan is an avid reader of history and politics books and enjoys hiking, photography and exploring Scandinavia's great outdoors - but not the camping!
