Tatev Abovyan

Tatev Abovyan is currently 34 years old. She is a highly skilled and accomplished lawyer from Armenia, currently residing in Rome. She graduated from the Armenian-Russian State University of Yerevan, where she obtained her degree in law. After graduation, she passed the bar exam in 2014, which allowed her to practice law in Armenia. Tatev has over 7 years of experience in the legal profession, which includes working for the Yerevan Municipality, the Supreme Court, and the legal section of UCOM LLC.

As a legal adviser, her duties include giving customers legal assistance on civil problems such as contracts, property disputes, personal injury claims, and employment law; client representation in civil court processes such as trials, hearings, and arbitrations and writing legal papers such as contracts, petitions, and motions. Conducting legal research and evaluating applicable laws, regulations, and legal precedents on a variety of civil concerns.

Through these experiences, she has developed a keen understanding of the legal system and has become well-versed in various areas of law, including civil law, administrative law, and contract law. In addition to her legal experience, Tatev has also pursued further studies, completing her degree from the Pontifical Lateran University, where she studied at the Law Faculty. She is fluent in four languages, including Armenian, Russian, English, and Italian, which has been an asset in her professional career and personal life.

In 2022, she had an internship at the Court of First Instance of the Vicariate of Rome. During the internship, she was assigned a variety of tasks and responsibilities, such as assisting with legal research, drafting legal documents, and observing court proceedings.

From 2022–2023, she had an internship at the Pontifical Oriental Institute. She held an administrative position that entailed collaborating with the university's administrative staff to support the institution's day-to-day operations.

Tatev has recently shown a keen interest in advancing her knowledge of human rights, child protection, and women's protection. She is currently taking online courses from Harvard and Stanford Universities that focus on understanding the legal frameworks, policies, and practices that support the protection and advancement of human rights. Additionally, she is also taking a course on "Introduction to Environmental Law and Policy" at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she is developing an overview of the principles of environmental law and policy.
