Jovana Doderović

Jovana Doderović was born in 1994 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in a small but beautiful city Trebinje.

After finished high school she moved to Serbia where she obtained BSc in Biological Sciences at the University of Novi Sad. Study programme was quite extensive, covering material from anatomy and morphology of all living organisms to genetic engineering. Projects she was involved during her bachelor studies concerned population genetics and genetic diversity of certain insect species. At the same university she obtained her MSc in Molecular Biology with focus on inhibitors of a protein involved in hormone-dependant cancers. In 2018 she moved to Prague to do Ph.D. in evolutionary-developmental biology at Charles University. She studied development of visual system and ventral nerve cord of a relatively new model organism, an annelid worm, Platynereis dumerilii.

Jovana has many interests outside of science. She is very interested in mental health research, both biological and psychological aspects, as well as different techniques for managing mental health. She enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures and has special interest in art in all its forms.
