Ilias Kamos


Ilias Kamos was born in 1989 in Thessaloniki, Greece, where he spent all his years of education,
up to his postgraduate studies. His first passion for foreign languages was transformed into studies
from 2006 to 2012 at the Department of German Language and Literature of the Aristotle
University of Thessaloniki.

After his graduation and after a short period of searching for postgraduate programmes, he
decided that Anthropology was the discipline that corresponded to his second passion, the study of
the ancient and modern indigenous peoples of Central America, especially the Maya.

In 2013 and for a four-month period, he took part as a tutor and coordinator in a school project in a
public school in Thessaloniki entitled “The Lost Civilizations of the Americas: The Aztecs and The
Mayas” In 2014 he fulfilled part of his dream and went to Mexico for a year to complete his thesis,
studying two indigenous peoples in Chiapas, the Tzeltal and the Tzotzil.

For the last few years he has been working as a German teacher and for the last year he has been
working as a Copywriter & Content Editor for a company.
