Avery Irene Stewart was born in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. She completed her Bachelor’s
Degree in English Literature at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, where she minored in
philosophy and took an interest in pragmatic linguistics. After graduating, she enrolled in the
Master of Journalism program at The University of King’s College, where she is currently
finishing her final year.
Avery has always loved literature and philosophy. Her literary work is tied closely to philosophy,
and she argues that the two disciplines are nearly impossible to separate; literature
encapsulates the human experience with such a vastness that there’s no end to its contents.
She has freelanced in writing and publishing since the first year of her undergraduate program
and has had poems, short stories and essays published in various literary magazines and
Avery has a deep admiration for both Romanticism and Irish poetry, falling in love with the art
that emerges from longing and the mysticism of Yeats.
When Avery is not reading or writing, she can be found swooning over French New Wave films
Her main specialties are:
● English and Irish Literature
